The Climate Communication and Education (CCE) theme responds to the identified need for greater and higher-quality climate communication and education globally. Effective CCE is necessary to provide reliable knowledge about climate change effects and mitigation, and is central to countering denialism and mobilising climate action, both socially and politically. As a relatively new interdisciplinary field critical to our climate futures, increased research and collaboration can help advance and share understandings of quality CCE.

The Melbourne Climate Futures CCE theme focuses on varied research and policy approaches to climate communication and education across sectors and disciplines. The work shared and promoted through the theme aims to raise awareness of climate change and improve engagement and action.
